rolex replica Nancy Lee Wilkes, 34, of Lake Placid, had been arrested by the Lake Placid Police Department recently and charged with two counts of grand theft from an elderly person, Police Chief James Fansler said in a news release.

The investigation found evidence that Wilkes pawned the two watches, valued at more than $60,000, during the past year and they were since sold to unknown buyers, he said.

“Through the investigative process,” the watches were returned to the victim on Aug. 27, he said.

“It is very rewarding to be able to return an item that holds such sentimental value,” Fansler said. “These watches were gifts between a loving husband and wife. With the husband now deceased, the watches held an even higher value to the victim.”

After Wilkes’ arrest, the Lake Placid Police Department asked help from the public and requested the watches be returned.

“Thank you to all who were assisting us in searching for these watches. Several people were constantly scanning Craigslist and other selling sites as well as social media,” Fansler said. “It is great when a community comes together to try and help. We received calls from as far up as Avon Park wanting to help. People wanted to see these watches returned. And so they have been.”

Fansler said there will be no arrests, no further investigation. “We were very lucky to get the watches returned,” he added.
